Christmas Eve

Such an original title, but it serves the purpose.

Caught myself dancing in church today. Nothing unusual except that my parents were there. I couldn't help myself. When we sing the "Hail, hail to the newborn King..." song, I have to move. Then, to boot, we lit candles as we sang. My very FAVORITE thing.

Went back tonight for an under-40 minute service, complete with carols, communion thoughts and communion. Bob did an outstanding job, as usual.

Don't mean to be short, but I'm whipped. Santa just left. The whole family is home (a la Schoonovers and I didn't even ask) and Christmas has thrown up everywhere. I think I'll head to bed now and see what transpires...

Merry Christmas, everyone! Let's show 'em that we DO know what Christmas is all about and that it IS significant!

More on that later, if I should remember to share...

Since I want to be an honorary Schoonover :-)

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate?? Hot Chocolate

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Wraps them

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? White

4. Do you hang mistletoe? Nope

5. When do you put your decorations up? When I can--usually the day after Thanksgiving, except the past two years when it's been more like Dec. 1-5, for some odd reason.

6.What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? Turkey and noodles

7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child: Going to Grandma and Grandpa's with my cousins, aunts, and uncles. Only regret is that, by the time Rich got there, it had changed a lot.

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa Claus? The year Mom and Dad tried to convince me they were looking for Santa when I heard them making a racket. Why would anyone question who was in the house when it's Christmas Eve?

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? Yes, under duress.

10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree? Traditionally. NO garland. Just lights and ornaments.

11. Snow, like it or dread it? LOVE IT--especially on Christmas and on school days.

12. Can you ice skate? I've never tried, but since my roller skating is butt-ugly...

13. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Being with my family

14. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? Punchbowl cake.

15. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Fighting everyone to stay in bed until a decent hour, then going to Mom and Dad's in a dead-tired state.

16. What tops your tree? An angel

17. Which do you prefer giving or receiving? Giving (and the shopping that leads to the giving) I'm with Chas there!

18. What is your favorite Christmas Song? Silent Night, Breath of Heaven, The Christmas Song, and The Restroom Door Said Gentlemen

19. Candy Canes! yuck or yummy? YUM!!

20. Favorite Christmas Movie? A Christmas Carol (Same for the book)
