Well...HOWDY!

A four-day weekend. I may be delusional, especially since Charissa is up and running strong, but I'm going to TRY to complete a blog entry.

Rich is in Kansas. Scratch that. Rich is in OKLAHOMA. He informed me that he's giving it a new travel slogan: Oklahoma: Beautiful but Boring. I guess the boy from the hills can't take all the flat.

As I may or may not have mentioned in the courses of my last blogs, we have hired a new principal. (Can we hear an "Amen, Sister!") Took us darned long enough. No one should have three rejections before s/he finds Mr. or Mrs. Right, and that goes even more for principals. What a trial it was! We survived, though. We survived. No one--and I mean NO ONE knows what we went through--except maybe the handful that helped to put us through it, but they seemed to enjoy it, so there.

We have high hopes of going to Bybee, Kentucky, tomorrow, then on to Shakertown for lunch in their restaurant. Charissa is draining, so our plans may all be for nought, but it's nice to dream. A lot of my plans have been for naught lately, so I should be getting used to it.

Brian is in Decatur, IL, until Saturday. He'd better be home then. This has been such a long stint. He left over a week ago. It seems that they find more and more to take him away from home...just like Patrick...

LOL! Avoided bifocals again!!! Doc thought I had them already--as did his assistant. I've never cheated death, as far as I know, but cheating bifocals has to come a close second! :-) When Doc said, "GUESS WHAT?!" over five minutes after I'd come out of the exam room, I pointed my finger in his face and said, "NO! You can't do that to me now! It's too late!" He laughed and said essentially, "I'll get you next year."

Good luck, Doc. If you can't tell I don't have them now, I must not need them too badly.

Glad you're back to blogging! We are so glad that Rich is here for a visit - we wish that you and Charissa could have joined us as well!

FYI - bifocals aren't all that bad - I've had them since I was 12!

Believe me. Next time, I'm there! Everything we were supposed to do went awry.

And REALLY??!! So many people talk about them like they're THE CURSE. A friend of mine has had something in the neighborhood of 3 adjustments recently because they keep messing up the line! And then there's Brian who pops his on top of his head in order to read...
